Do I need to create an account to send or receive files?
No account is required! You can send and receive files, code, notes, and links immediately as a guest. Simply upload or write what you want to share, get an 8-character code or QR, and the receiver can open it right away on any computer, phone, or tablet.
What kinds of files can I share?
You can share any file type, including photos, videos, PDF documents, spreadsheets, presentations, music, apps, code files, and compressed folders. There are no restrictions on file extensions.
Can I upload multiple files at the same time?
Yes! You can select or drag and drop multiple files at once. When you share multiple files, RunDrop automatically packs them into a single neat folder so the receiver can download everything together in one click.
What happens if my internet connection drops during an upload?
Your upload will not be lost! RunDrop automatically saves your progress. As soon as your internet reconnects, the upload picks up right where it left off, so you do not have to restart from the beginning.
How does Nearby Device Sharing work on the same Wi-Fi?
If you and another person or device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, you can open the Nearby Board to find each other automatically. You can send files, notes, or links directly between devices without emailing them, and you can add a simple PIN number so only the right person can connect.
Can I send files from my computer to my phone with a QR code?
Yes! Whenever you share something, a QR code appears on your screen. Just point your phone camera at the screen to open the transfer on your phone instantly, without typing long web addresses.
Where are my files kept and when are they deleted?
Files and notes are stored securely in temporary cloud storage. They are kept only for the time you choose (3 hours on the Free plan, or up to 7 full days on paid plans). Once the timer ends, our system permanently erases the files with zero trace left behind.
Can I set a maximum download limit for my files?
Yes! You can choose how many times your file can be downloaded (for example, 1, 5, or 10 times). As soon as that number of downloads is reached, access closes immediately, even if the expiration timer has not finished.
